A series of expressive soul-illuminating portraitures revealed in 45 second sessions between artist and subject.

It can be said that our eyes are the portals into the soul. Eye contact is therefore sacred, although we mindlessly occupy ourselves with the realms beyond our tiny screens. 

The catalyst for the Blind Portrait Experience was my personal desire to raise awareness on the importance of human connection. 

I set out onto the Venice Boardwalk one afternoon and returned home with over thirty portraits. Motivated by the stories and emotions of that day, I set a goal to gaze into the eyes of ten thousand people.

Through a forty-five second eye gazing exercise, a sublime connection is naturally established, and without looking down at the paper, an intuitive contour drawing is revealed.  A portrait of your essence.

Five years and twenty-two countries later, I am a little over half way there, each one with its own transporting memory. Upon reaching my goal, I will propose an opportunity to participate in a collective act of kindness to pay it forward. In return, I intend to mail each participant their portrait subsequent to an exhibition to close and celebrate the journey.
